I just can’t stop talking about food! Hahaha! Manila is indeed a great place for ‘makan’! You can simply find some influences of its previous colonizer, the Spanish, in its dishes. Seafood and rice You can easily find fresh seafood here in Manila. We had a big piece of grilled fish steak and ‘la-la’ (clam) soup served with white rice on banana leaves. It gave me a homely feel when having food served on banana leaves. If I’m not mistaken, you can find this restaurant along Abel Nosce Street in Las Pinas City. Going to Boracay in January is always different. This is because the Ati-Atihan Festival which is celebrated annually in Kalibo will go on from early January until the third weekend of the same month. It’s a colourful celebration where dancers and performers in striking colours and costumes marching along the road of Kalibo. Basically, Kalibo is where the jetty to sail off to Boracay is.
