Pyotravel.com Targets Turnover Of RM60Million For 2010

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 2 (Bernama) — Online travel agency, PYOTravel.com is targeting a sales turnover of RM60 million for the financial year ending March 31, 2010.

This is a 300 per cent growth compared to the previous financial year.

PYOTravel.com, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Reliance Group Bhd, was established in 2006 as a leading online travel portal, whose business is mainly focused on online tourism.

The general manager of PYOTravel.com Francis Chin said to achieve this target, the company would focus on new product offerings, especially for Asian destinations.

“Malaysia, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Singapore are our key markets with Australia,Japan and China the fastest growing,” he said during the launch of the company’s revamped website, www.pyotravel.com today.

He said PYOTravel.com will leverage on the recently revamped website, which saw its technological capabilities being further strenghtened, to improve on services.

How will the future of Online Travel be ?

Let me start off by asking you 2 key questions.

What would you expect online travel to be like in year, say 2015 ?
What is most important to you when comes to planning and booking your travels online ?

As far as I am concern (i book my holidays online), whatever that may become the future of online travel, below are still the most important, most fundamental….

Someone do the research for me, summarize for me and can Guarantee me that what I am being offered is the BEST DEAL I can get for that time (I don’t want to rely on those vertical search engine that confuse me more than helping me)
I don’t mind to be notify whenever there is SOME OTHER Deal that may be relevant to me from time to time…but please Don’t SPAM me for every deal !! just like some local mobile service company here that keep on Spamming my phone for ads that makes no sense to me !
Of course, I must have some sort of “protection” just in case my holidays that I booked online encounter discrepancy..such as NO ROOM upon check in at hotel…which can really happen if you are unlucky !
And lastly, REWARD me for booking with the online travel agent, so that the more I buy, the more rewards I can get !!!

makan makan in Penang

What’s the first thing that pops in your mind when it comes to Penang Island? “MAKAN” of course. Penang being the city of delicious food is a must to visit. The PYO KL team had the opportunity to head up to Penang to meet up with our Penang colleagues. The main reason was to attend the Penang Matta Fair which was held at P.I S.A, the other reason was to indulge in the wonderful, yummilicious food. We left in 2 groups, one got onto the coach at Puduraya, the other group drove.

For the 4 of us that took the coach, the journey was a 5 hour journey to Sungai Nibong’s bus terminal. The upside of the journey was that when we arrived, we were treated to one of Penang’s famous ‘Char Kueh Teow’.

You might have heard about the famous lady on lorong selamat, well being the adventurous group of people, we skip the normality in search for something different. we headed a few shops down to find this little ‘kopitiam’ … it’s not hard to miss, look for the char kueh teow uncle that wears this really outrages goggles…. (you might not know, the uncle might be some spokesperson for a goggles brand).

The fried kueh teow here was amazingly delicious, once we tasted it, it was the benchmark for all char kueh teows. It is said that this place serves one of the best Fried kueh teow on the island. The prawns that were stir fried together was succulent and absolutely juicy. Definitely mind boggling.

This little “kopitiam” does not only serves char kueh teow, on their menu list, there was fruit rojak, sotong kangkung and a few others. We only opt to have the fried kueh teow and the ever cooling, ice kacang.

Poor Response in Penang Matta Fair…

We are now at the 3rd and final day of Penang Matta Fair ground, as of this writing, we are approaching the final 2 hours of fair before it closes.

This year the traffic drops atleast 70% and most travelers postponed their travel to October till December.

We do expect a slow in business volume, but none of us expected this bad turn out. I overheard there are other agents even score Zero for the past 2 days…that’s how bad it is.

We hope that the fear of travel will be slowly subside when the H1N1 situations approve…see for yourself…
