I just can’t stop talking about food! Hahaha! Manila is indeed a great place for ‘makan’! You can simply find some influences of its previous colonizer, the Spanish, in its dishes.
Seafood and rice

Seafood and rice

You can easily find fresh seafood here in Manila. We had a big piece of grilled fish steak and ‘la-la’ (clam) soup served with white rice on banana leaves. It gave me a homely feel when having food served on banana leaves. If I’m not mistaken, you can find this restaurant along Abel Nosce Street in Las Pinas City.

Here are two other seafood dishes we had previously in Manila. Very fresh! Find them at Mall of Asia in Pasay City.
Fried tapioca

Fried tapioca

This is something special I would love to share with you guys. It’s called Kamoteng Kahoy, or simply called fried tapioca, so crispy and moist at the same time. once you bite the outer layer, it’s so crispy. On the inside, you can taste the tapioca which is not too dry nor moist. The special thing about Kamoteng Kahoy is that it’s not dipped into tomato or chilli sauce. It’s dipped into vinegar. You’ll love the combination of this taste in your mouth.

Nachos with minced beef and vegetable

Spanish-influenced food can be found easily around the town! Have some nachos with minced beef and vegetable in sour cream as appetizer. A great partner for beer! Cheers!!!

Chicken Inasal : grilled chicken on skew

Chicken Inasal : Grilled chicken on skew

Chicken on skew!!! Well, almost every parts of a chicken can be eaten and in Manila, it’s even more fun with the skews. Actually, they prefer to grill chickens on skew and served them hot! I’ve tried their grilled chicken intestines and gizzards. Delicious. I love the taste of the marinate sauce.

Since I’ve done all the talking here. Now, it’s time you guys do some clicking. Fly to Manila with PYO Travel and have fun with the food! Let not the food-hunting spirit fade away…
